Rocks

As you may or may not know, there is a point on the Camino de Santiago where a pilgrim leaves a “rock” to indicate leaving one’s burdens behind.  Also, as you may or may not know, I am devoting each day to a person or persons that I am thankful to God for bringing into my life.  The day that I am to leave a rock, I will be praying for my grandchildren and how thankful that I am to have them in my life.  Proverbs 17:6 says, “Grandchildren are the crown of the aged, and the glory of children is their parents.”

That leads to today.  Today, my two oldest grandchildren, Brayden and Ava, sat down to paint the rocks that I will leave when I walk the Camino in the Fall.  Below are the four rocks THEY designed.

The first is for Brayden, my oldest grandson.  He likes the vines, representing Christ, and the cross!  Ava, my only granddaughter, wanted me to know she loves me.  Ava designed Rhett’s, my youngest grandson.  She wanted the rock to look like a baseball and the two Ts in his name to look like the T in the Texas Rangers logo, thinking of Rhett’s Dad!!  The fourth was a collaboration.  It represented any unknown future grandchildren with which God may bless me.  I don’t know what I did to deserve these three blessings in my life.
